EDUC8 is a free app that helps to build resilience against radicalisation and polarisation through religious education. Forming an outcome of the EDUC8 Project which is funded by the EU, EDUC8 App offers a selection of courses for secondary school teachers and students. The content is in English, French and Dutch for the followers of six faiths / life philosophies, namely Judaism, Catholicism, Islam, Orthodoxy and Protestantism, and non-confessional ethics.

EDUC8 methodology aims at equipping the audience with knowledge of the other (shallow module), well understanding of the self (deep module), reaching mutual understanding and appreciation through dialogue (in-class discussion) and building friendships through smart encounters (socialisation). The content in the app is designed in a way to support implementation of this methodology.

In the shallow modules, we look into different faiths / philosophies from an inner perspective. So, we want to give you the taste of living in that faith / philosophy to get you better understand “them”. In deep modules, we answer some of the most relevant questions of our days from the perspective of your own faith / philosophy. We will in general terms tackle four of those questions to help you better conceptualise current problems based on a story that you could encounter in your everyday life.

To supplement shallow and deep modules, we also provide factsheets and infographics in the respective faiths/philosophies.

Teachers have ability to create their own virtual classrooms and add their students can enrolled in their classes. This way teachers can follow progress of their students by using the app.
